Tell us about your background and what brought you to recruitment?
I started my career in pharma in 1995 as a pharmaceutical rep at Bayer in Sweden and Finland. After a few years, I moved into product management roles at Abbott, Pfizer, and Wyeth, where I also led the Nordic anti-infectives brand team. Following Wyeth’s acquisition, I transitioned to Sales Director roles in medical devices and later returned to pharma with Astellas, launching a pain relief product in Finland. A meeting with a recruitment firm led to a new chapter—over 10 years in life science recruitment. I’ve truly enjoyed helping candidates grow and connecting clients with top talent.

Having a background yourself in specialist roles in life sciences, how do you make use of that in your work as a recruiter?
The experience I have from prior roles is of great importance in the work as a recruiter. You might have had very similar experiences, and/or even held the same types of roles a few years back. This kind of understanding gives you of course advantages when managing arecruitment. I still see that a recruiter needs always to have an open mind and ability to listen, learning new, when discussing with customers and candidates. Not just forcing your own ideas and thoughts.

What are you looking forward to, and what do you see yourself contributing with in your new role here at H&C?
The Haeger & Carlsson feeling and how warmly and thoughtfully colleagues interact with each other was key for me. I hope myself to bring onboard a warm team-personality, vast experience from recruiting to the Finnish and Nordic Life Science, but most of all, being a great and supportive colleague that is onboard building the subsidiary of Haeger & Carlsson in Finland.
